2017 South Saint Paul Coronation

On Saturday the twenty-fourth, my royal sister and I attended the South St Paul Coronation. At first, the current royalty and candidates put on a dance to “You’re never fully dressed without a smile” by Sia. After that they introduced the current ambassadors and the candidates. Then the judges, board of directors, dignitaries, former South St. Paul royalty, and visiting royalty. The candidates entered on stage in their formal gowns to present them for the audience. After each girl circled the stage and they ended up by the hosts, where they were asked a fishbowl question. Once all the girls have made their way around the stage and answered there question it was time for the slideshow. All three girls gave their farewell speech and shared the fun memories they had. The candidates were asked back on stage and and Kelsey Tompkins won Miss Congeniality and Kristen Coan won miss buttons. Out of the six girls, Heidi Therres and Emily Eidenschink won princess and Kristen Coan won queen. After the crowning there was a reception where we took a picture with the new ambassadors, ate cupcakes, and mingled.

South St Paul is a home grown city that had  the whole town attend the parade. Talk about feeling like a celebrity! After the parade we gathered at the VFW to celebrate! It was a blast to be apart of an event with so much community pride!

On Thursday June 15 my royal sister Ally and I went to the Kaposia Days Kick Off Dinner.  The food was really good and my favorite part was the cake. The candidates for Kaposia Days did a sponsor commercial and 2 people were knighted by the Winter Carnival. It was an exciting night. Can’t wait to see who gets crowned next week.

2017 Service Project

My second community service project as a Miss Inver Grove Heights Ambassador was a fundraising sale dedicated to the Alzheimers Association. This organization is important because it brings awareness to a life changing illness, and helps fund the research necessary to find a cure for this disease. This project involved me collecting, organizing, and advertising items for this 3 day long sale which took place June 8-10th. I collected items from family members and local neighbors and then had to label prices on all items in order to sell them. After collecting the items I distributed flyers at local community centers including the Inver Glen Library, the Inver Grove Heights Anytime Fitness and throughout the roads of Inver Grove. The event had a great turnout and I am excited to announce I raised 200$ to donate to the Alzheimers Association and I was even able to bring all unsold items to the Goodwill in West St Paul for donation to benefit the local community.

2017 Junior Miss Princess Fort Snelling Service Project

For my second service project I was able to help out with Flags for Fort Snelling and put out the flags on Memorial day. My mom’s great uncle was killed in action during the Korean war, but he wasn’t found and buried for 58 years, so this was special to my family to be able to honor the military people. I also have my uncle and great grandma buried at Fort Snelling. I invited some family and friends to help with the event.  It was a great experience seeing all the people that came out to help and being able to honor to the heroes who have fallen for our freedom.

2017 South St. Paul Candidate Showcase

On Thursday, June 1st, my royal sisters Ally, Megan and I were able to attend the South St Paul Kaposia Days Candidate Showcase.  It was really fun the candidates had to make a dish and give the recipe, for something from their heritage or childhood.  My favorite was the gingersnaps and the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. It was fun seeing all the other royal families again.
