2016 Service Project – Taylor Rose Ambrose

This holiday season I learned about how to take action in our community by helping my brother’s class with their adopt a family Holiday Program for Neighbors, Inc.   I helped raise money by doing extra chores for others and went shopping with the class to choose gifts for the family who had a boy and a girl. The employees at Neighbors were very happy and excited about the gifts. The class and me were in groups and my group shopped for clothes for the little boy.  We went to Neighbors to deliver the gifts so the family may pick up the gifts and have a happier holiday season.

2016 Sponsor Visit – Hillary Gill-Tabuso

2Q==I met with my sponsor Victor Sanchez, owner and operator of Sanchez Stucco and Stone.  I call him dad.
We talked about my experiences as Little Miss Inver Grove Heights over dinner at Ruby Tuesday.  He is very proud of the service work I have done. I told him about the exciting events I have attended and the money I raised for the Walk to End Hunger.
It was different to have such an official meeting with him.  I let him know how much I appreciated everything he has done for the Program and myself.

2016 Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Hello readers! On December 19th we went to Cub to ring bells for the
Salvation Army. We had 2 bells but there were 4 of us. So, Lori went
to her house and got a cowbell, triangle, and big bell. We were now a
band playing Jingle Bells that was the only song we played in tune. We
also sang a lot of songs like Silent Night to Jingle Bells. While we
were having fun singing and ringing the bells people came over and
watched and put money in the bucket. It was so good to know that the
Salvation Army will be there for families and okay this holiday
season.

2016 Breakfast with Santa

Happy Holidays.  On December 12th my Royal Sisters and I enjoyed visiting with kids and painting nails at the Breakfast with Santa.  A little girl that was just one year old let us paint her nails for her first time.  We also donated a bag of new mittens to children in need who do not have mittens this winter.

2016 Clouds Choir

IMG_2500

Two years ago, Zach Sobiech passed away from Osteosarcoma. On Friday, December 11th, both alumni and current royalty as well as thousands of others came together at the Mall of America to sing one of the songs he wrote. We sang the song “Clouds”, and even received a soundtrack with the other songs he wrote. In addition, KS95 recorded the crowd singing, and the video will be uploaded to Youtube! 🙂 During the event, it was announced that over $500,000 had been raised! All of the money goes towards cancer research, as well as enhancing healthcare at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. This event means a lot for so many people, and to have the chance to attend and sing the song was truly an honor.

2016 Lighting of the City Christmas Tree

2015-12-07 07_32_06

On Monday December 7th, my royal girls and I had a fantastic time at the City Christmas tree lighting. We heard The Simley Chior sing and counted down until the lighting! Then, we went in for a yummy treat and got to socialize with the people of Inver Grove!

2016 South Region “Stars” Holiday Party

2015-12-06 04_23_44

My royal ladies and I had the honor of helping out at the Special Olympics Christmas Party, which was at the South St. Paul VFW on Sunday December 6th. It was a lot of fun because we met so many different people who were all really nice! Another thing that made the event fun was that Santa came. He brought gifts for all of the athletes too! Also, something that meant a lot to us was when we signed the poster thanking veterans. It was awesome seeing so many words of appreciation on the poster for all of them because they give so much to our country. With Stephanie planning on joining the Navy it meant that much more to us too. No matter how much time a veteran spent in the service, their dedication and hard work is greatly appreciated!

Sponsor Visit

IMG_6399

I am absolutely thrilled every time I meet with my sponsor. Jessica Spier, along with all the other amazing workers at The Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital, make each visit special. I get to tell stories of the awesome royalty adventures we’ve had so far and I get to be able to appreciate their sponsorship, because without it I would not be where I am today. Big smiles and lots of paws to the IGH Animal Hospital,  the amazing work they do, and for being such a fantastic place.

2016 Gertens Pointsettia Open House

IMG_2434

It’s crazy that December is already here! On Saturday, December 5th, we spent time at Gertens because it was their Poinsettia Open house. All six of us spent time greeting people, talking with little kids who were excited to meet Santa, and handing out delicious cookies. While we were there, I learned not only how many things one could buy relating to the holiday season, but also how many of those cool holiday things my family needed. The best example is the star tree topper with the spinning disco ball in the center. A close second would have to be the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Overall, it was a fun day and it went by really fast! My favorite part would have to be petting the reindeer and miniature donkey because they were extremely cute and I love animals!

2016 City Council Meeting

IMG_2186

Hey bloggers its me again with the latest news on our event at the
City Council meeting. First we introduced ourselves and presented
Mr.Toureville with a picture of the royal family to go next to the
other one of the last royal court. Second we talked a little about the
program. Third I made a funny moment that will be with this event
forever. I said, “I’m not really a politickle person.” Then Rachel
said, “You mean political.” And we laughed. The royalty family that
follows will put their picture on the wall next to ours. Thanks for
reading!
