Ellas First Service Project

For one of my service projects this year, I had the opportunity to be part of something amazing and close to my heart. In memory of my father Cory, Cory’s Closet was created by my aunt at Simley High School. This gives students the opportunity to get essential hygiene items that they may not be able to get at home. I want to say thank you to everyone who donated. It is greatly appreciated by all the kids at the high school. My father Cory would have been proud!

Miss Inver Grove Heights Second Service Project

For my second service project, I organized a Toys for Tots collection. We ended up filling 5 boxes full of toys. There were over 200 toys dropped off and over $1200 in donations. I would like to give a huge thank you to my sponsor, the Moose Lodge 1088, for letting me set up my collection boxes there and for their generous donation of $1000. On the final drop-off date, a U.S. Marine and Santa came to support. This was an incredible experience to see how much the community can come together and how much everyone cares about the children.

Lilys second service project

During the month of December, I spent ten hours crafting 62 customized Christmas cards for White Pines Memory Care facility in IGH.  First, my mom and I went to the Dollar Tree and picked out packs of pre-made cards.  Then, we went home and laid out all of our supplies to see what we had to work with.  Next, we took our fun scissors that had cool patterns and cut out all of the words and pictures from each card.  Then we traced and measured a card onto cardstock to match the size of the envelope. After we finished the tracing, we cut all of the cardstock to make them into new cards.  Next was the FUN part, I got to mix and match all of our words and pictures to make different designs on each card.  My next step was gluing, putting stickers on, and signing each card.  The last step was stuffing the cards into envelopes and sealing them with a sticker.  I delivered all of the cards to White Pines on Wednesday, December 22nd. I hope this brings joy to the residents.

Little Miss Sponsor Visit

On Monday, December 20th, I went to Drkula’s Bowl to see my sponsor Tim Drkula.  We talked about how for the first time in 59 years they were closing on Christmas day.  We also talked about how he was working a double shift that day.  As a thank you, I brought him a cookie tower. He really liked it a lot!  After that, I took a picture with Tim. I am so thankful that Drkula’s is my sponsor.

Skate with Santa

I was excited to participate in the Skate with Santa event with Alyssa, Lily, and Ella.

We were able to help by setting up the event.

Then for a little time, I helped give people skates.

Alyssa and I were able to skate with Santa and were treated to cookies and hot cocoa.

At the end of the night, we handed out treat bags as a thank you for coming to all the participants.

This was a great event!

First Service Project for Miss IGH

For my first service project, I raised money throughout the month of November for the Walk to End Hunger as a part of No Hunger November. Then I completed the fundraiser by doing the actual walk. I got to talk with some of the other people who were also doing the walk get to know them a bit as well which was really fun. I was blown away by the amount of support I received doing this project. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped me achieve my goal, it means a lot to me, and to everyone, it helps as well.

Santa

On Saturday, December 11 we helped at the North Pole morning with Santa. We helped set up, ran a few activities such as the bouncy house, cheese decorating, and the can-can knockdown game. We took some awesome pictures and enjoyed spending time helping the Parks and Rec. All the kids enjoyed a great morning with Santa despite the large amounts of snow !

Holiday shopping

On Sunday, December 5th we woke up super early to go to West St. Paul’s Thompson County Park to help with Holiday Shopping.  For this event, we got stationed at a table to wrap presents for kids who went shopping for their families, friends, and pets. Each child purchased tickets which allowed them to choose gifts in their price range for their families. It was amazing to see all of the kids with smiles on their faces as they picked out presents.  It was such a good turnout and it was so much fun!

Little Miss Service Project

For my first service project, I collected magazines to donate to the White Pines Memory Care facility.  I spent over three hours collecting 437 magazines from various residents and businesses here in Inver Grove Heights. It was really fun to collect, sort, and then deliver the magazines to the facility.  The residents will use them for various projects and activities.  We delivered so many that they were able to share with another facility outside of Inver Grove.  The support of our community is absolutely amazing!

Fundraiser

On Sunday November 21, the Inver Grove Heights Scholarship Program had one of our fundraisers. It was quite the surprise when we saw that the New Brighton Ambassadors and a Woodbury Ambassador came to the auction. Throughout the auction, we got to talk to so many people and we even got to see some past members of our royal family as well. We had a great time throughout the event and we are incredibly thankful for the support of our community.
