Minneapolis Aquatennial Parade

With severe thunderstorms coming there was a possibility of the parade being canceled. All Royalty groups participating in the parade were gathered in a large building to wait out the storm. Safe and dry. During this time my Royal sisters and I had the opportunity to meet and visit with many other Royalty from different towns and festivals. After a starting time delay, the weather passed, and the parade began. It was fun to see all the people that braved the weather enjoying the parade. The Aquatennial is celebrating its 83rd anniversary this year.We met the 2023 Queen of the Lakes, Kaia Schomberg (see photo). She competed with 37 candidates to earn her title and will make 250 personal appearances during her reign!  It was a fun night. 2023 Inver Grove Heights Miss Princess

Lake is PanOProg Parade

My royal sisters and I went to the Lakeville Pan O Prog parade which, also happened to be my birthday.  We started at the Lakeville Arts center for a luncheon and to meet the rest of the visiting royalty.  The luncheon had a lot of tasty food like sandwiches, cookies, cheese, and fruit tray.  We got a ride in a golf cart to our float.  The weather was perfect sunny but, with a breeze.  We had a really good time.  My royal sisters sang me happy birthday and we also received cookie dough at the end of the parade.

Hopkins Coronation

On Thursday, July 13th my royal sisters and I went to the Hopkins Raspberry Festival Coronation. The Raspberry Festival has been going on for 89 years! There was pictures of some of the older ambassadors, which was pretty neat to see. There were also a lot of other ambassadors celebrating the coronation as well.
We listened to the creative farewell speeches from the outgoing royalty and watched their slideshow of pictures from their year. Of course, the new Queen and Princesses were elected, which is always exciting to watch.
After the coronation we went to the Ball that was so much fun. We danced, ate cake, and there was even a Miss Congeniality musical chair game that our Queen, Stephanie, got pretty far in.

Eagan Funfest

On Tuesday, July 4th my royal sisters and I got to go to Eagan Funfest. The first thing we did was the parade. There were so many people there to watch the parade and a lot of floats, too. We were halfway through the parade when it started to rain, hard! We had to finish out the route then we were able to get off of the float.
Of course we were soaked but luckily had a change of clothes with us. After we changed we participated in the hula hoop contest then danced for a good amount of time, it was really fun.
Then my favorite event so far, the Brain Freeze started. I didn’t even know Eagan Funfest had this event before this year. The Brain Freeze was an ice cream eating contest and you couldn’t use your hands at all. I am pretty sure we made it to the finals, but then we weren’t fast enough!
After the Brain Freeze we rode on the carousel for the Sparkle Ride. All royalty and the Eagan Funfest candidates rode on the carousel together.
This day was action packed and we all had so much fun!

Strawberryfest

The Cottage Strawberry Days Parade was a very fun and well organized event. We were greeted with a breakfast of donuts and fresh strawberries. My Royal family and I enjoyed mingling with all the Royalty from other towns and festival. It was a perfect weather day for a parade. The Parade route was in more of a residential setting, where people could watch the parade in the shade of trees. I always enjoy seeing the excited smiling children waving, as our float passes by them. Later that evening my dad and I returned to enjoy  some of other Strawberry Days festivities, live music, amusement park rides, food and carnival games. It was a very enjoyable day.

Service Project

On Friday, June 16, 2023, my 3rd service project was volunteering at “Feed My Starving Children” in Eagan. I recruited a group of family and friends to participate with me to pack meals. The meals are sent to countries around the world where there is a great need for food for children. The afternoon volunteer session was full (over 100 volunteers) but our morning session was a very small group. That made it fun to see how many meals our small but mighty group could pack. We did very well packing 43 boxes and 9,288 meals. That will feed 25 kids a daily meal for a year! Our boxes were being shipped to Haiti. Due to recent earthquakes and Haiti being a very poor country, meals are extremely important nutrition for the children. With lively music playing, the atmosphere was upbeat.  We worked fast as a team and had a great time. At the end of our session, we had the opportunity to say a group prayer over a large pallet of food boxes getting ready to be shipped. We prayed to bless the food to provide the needed nutrition for the children. And prayed for the food shipment to reach its destination. I look forward to volunteering again.

Terrific Tuesday

My royal sisters and I attended Inver Grove Height’s Terrific Tuesday in Oakwood park. They had a band playing kids music and they had two kids booths.115 people from the community participated and at the end there were freeze pops for everyone. There was a storybook walk on the path that families could go and read together. We volunteered by greeting everyone, helping with setup and taking attendance. I think it’s great that the city puts on events like this to bring the community together.
