2016 Crowns and Gowns Fashion Show

photoOn Saturday, January 23rd, we had a great time at the Winter Carnival’s Crowns and Gowns Fashion Show. The current royal family as well as the Queen of the Snows candidates walked down the runway dressed in amazing outfits, all graciously provided by Dress Barn, Frank Murphy, and Glitz. Stephanie, Liv, Olivia, and I were in awe of the gorgeous dresses they had! All of the candidates looked amazing and walked down the runway with confidence. We had an especially fun time rooting for Mallory West, a 2004 Inver Grove Heights Ambassador, who is also a Queen of the Snows candidate. Overall, it was such a fun time! Although I am sad to see the 2015 Winter Carnival royal family give up their titles, I can hardly wait until Friday for the royal coronation, and then Saturday for the parade!

2016 St. Paul Winter Carnival Junior Royalty Coronation

DSC_0181On Sunday, January 10th, my royal family attended the St. Paul Winter Carnival Junior Royalty Coronation. We supported the Junior Royalty candidates and outgoing court by sitting in the enormous sparkle section. It was an exciting and entertaining coronation.  At the reception we talked with the Queen of the Snows candidates and the 2015 King Boreas. We welcomed the newly crowned Junior Royalty and took pictures together. After signing the memory books for the outgoing court, we enjoyed refreshments with other royal families.  Best cake ever! The evening was great fun.

2016 Queen of Snows Candidate Dinner

IMG_1985On Thursday, January 7th, I attended the Winter Carnival Queen of Snows Candidate Diner with Miss Inver Grove Heights, Stephanie. This event introduces us to the 18 candidates who will be running for the 2016 Winter Carnival Royal Court. We were able to learn each candidate’s sponsor, their past and future goals, and why they want to be a part of the royal court. They also answered “fishbowl” questions and sang the traditional candidate song set to the tune of ‘Frosty the Snowman.’ Stephanie and I had a great time mingling with the candidates and past carnival members.

Throughout the Queen of Snows candidacy, please help us cheer on one of our very own, Mallory West, a 2005 Inver Grove Heights Ambassador. We wish her and the rest of the candidates the best of luck on this journey!

2016 Sponsor Visit – Taylor Rose Ambrose

DSC_0159I had a nice meeting  with my sponsor Jim Norton of Custom Products and Services, Inc. in Inver Grove Heights.  I have visited his business before, but this time I learned a whole lot more about what kind business it is and what they build.   I got to share stories about my adventures and all of the new  things I have learned.  I talked about the parades we have done so far in other communities, the Clouds choir we participated in at the Mall of America, the Walk to End Hunger and my adopt a family service project.  I thanked Jim Norton for sponsoring me because I am  really happy to have this opportunity to grow.

2016 Service Project – Taylor Rose Ambrose

This holiday season I learned about how to take action in our community by helping my brother’s class with their adopt a family Holiday Program for Neighbors, Inc.   I helped raise money by doing extra chores for others and went shopping with the class to choose gifts for the family who had a boy and a girl. The employees at Neighbors were very happy and excited about the gifts. The class and me were in groups and my group shopped for clothes for the little boy.  We went to Neighbors to deliver the gifts so the family may pick up the gifts and have a happier holiday season.

2016 Sponsor Visit – Hillary Gill-Tabuso

2Q==I met with my sponsor Victor Sanchez, owner and operator of Sanchez Stucco and Stone.  I call him dad.
We talked about my experiences as Little Miss Inver Grove Heights over dinner at Ruby Tuesday.  He is very proud of the service work I have done. I told him about the exciting events I have attended and the money I raised for the Walk to End Hunger.
It was different to have such an official meeting with him.  I let him know how much I appreciated everything he has done for the Program and myself.

2016 Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Hello readers! On December 19th we went to Cub to ring bells for the
Salvation Army. We had 2 bells but there were 4 of us. So, Lori went
to her house and got a cowbell, triangle, and big bell. We were now a
band playing Jingle Bells that was the only song we played in tune. We
also sang a lot of songs like Silent Night to Jingle Bells. While we
were having fun singing and ringing the bells people came over and
watched and put money in the bucket. It was so good to know that the
Salvation Army will be there for families and okay this holiday
season.

2016 Breakfast with Santa

Happy Holidays.  On December 12th my Royal Sisters and I enjoyed visiting with kids and painting nails at the Breakfast with Santa.  A little girl that was just one year old let us paint her nails for her first time.  We also donated a bag of new mittens to children in need who do not have mittens this winter.

Two years ago, Zach Sobiech passed away from Osteosarcoma. On Friday, December 11th, both alumni and current royalty as well as thousands of others came together at the Mall of America to sing one of the songs he wrote. We sang the song “Clouds”, and even received a soundtrack with the other songs he wrote. In addition, KS95 recorded the crowd singing, and the video will be uploaded to Youtube! 🙂 During the event, it was announced that over $500,000 had been raised! All of the money goes towards cancer research, as well as enhancing healthcare at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. This event means a lot for so many people, and to have the chance to attend and sing the song was truly an honor.

2016 Lighting of the City Christmas Tree

2015-12-07 07_32_06

On Monday December 7th, my royal girls and I had a fantastic time at the City Christmas tree lighting. We heard The Simley Chior sing and counted down until the lighting! Then, we went in for a yummy treat and got to socialize with the people of Inver Grove!
